What is the box?
The box is Southwest’s way of spreading some LUV to California, and is a way to win some exciting prizes. Sign up for notifications to learn when we are coming to your area!
How can I find the box?

Is the box coming to my city?
It’s a surprise! Sign up for notifications here to get more information if the box will be coming to your town.
What can I win?
We would love to show you in person! Keep an eye out for us if and when we come to your area.
Do I need to be a Member of Southwest Rapid Rewards® to participate?
No, you do not have to be a Southwest Rapid Rewards® Member to participate. You can sign up here for a free account!
Will I need to provide personal information in order to win?
Yes. If you win, we will only ask for the necessary information to determine eligibility and ensure you can successfully redeem your prize.
Is there an age restriction on who can participate?
You must be 18 years of age or older to participate. For complete rules, click here.
How is California residency determined?
All winners will be asked to provide their California zip code in order to redeem their prize. If someone wins an aggregate value of $600 in prizes, they will be asked to sign a legal tax document stating they are a California resident before they can officially claim their prize.
Can I participate without being physically present at the box?
Yes! We will also be running a social media sweepstakes in each city. After the box reveals a prize, we will kick off our social media sweepstakes and select winners that way as well. To participate, you will still need to be a California resident and over 18 years of age.
How to participate
What are the different ways I can enter to win?
There are two ways to enter. The first is finding our Southwest Box if/when it comes to your city. If you are able to participate, you will have the chance to win the grand prize. The second way to enter is through one of our social media sweepstakes, where we will also award the grand prize to winners.
Where can I get a copy of the official rules?
Do I have to let Southwest use my social media posts?
No, you do not have to share any of your social media information with Southwest unless you choose to. If you are selected as a winner through the social media contest, Southwest may ask for your permission to use the content.
When will I be notified of the box’s location?
It’s a surprise! Sign up here for notifications of if/when the box is coming to a location near you.
How long will the box be available in each location?
The box will be active and distributing prizes until all the prizes are gone. Try to find us as early as possible!
Winning and prizes

What are my odds of winning?

When will I be notified if I win?
If you are in person at the box and win the grand prize, the full prize will be revealed as soon as all in-person prizes are given away. You will then need to provide personal information to one of our staff members onsite to be contacted for fulfillment at a later date.
If you win a prize via social media sweepstakes, you will be notified within 5 days of the sweepstakes’ end.
Will I be responsible for any taxes for the prizes?
Yes. You are responsible for reporting the value of your prize on your tax return. The value of each prize can be found in the official rules.
Can I win more than once?
You can only win one per location (online and at location). However, you are eligible to win at all locations if you are over the age of 18 and a California resident.
